An evolving skill

Learning the art of woodcraft is not an easy feat. I'll admit that I started this journey thinking the my biggest hurdle would be finding the funds to purchase the increasingly expensive tools and machines. Turns out I was very wrong.  The real struggle is building the skills to problem solve the various cuts and joints when designing and building a project.
This bench is one of the very first large woodworking projects I ever took on.  Looking at it you might be thinking (just as I did) that this is a simple project with very easy cuts.  Well, you're right...kinda.  To make this all you need is a circular saw and drill.  But what makes this more difficult than it looks is planning out each cut, how each piece will be jointed together, and how you're going to clamp the pieces together to keep them straight and square while you screw them in.  All of this while trying to to be safe is a real challenge.
But if you're looking for something to do while quarantined at home, woodworking is a fantastic way to take up your time. And it really doesn't have to take up your money. There are countless videos on YouTube on how to carve wood with a simple set of carving knifes. I haven't done this...yet...but it could really be a lot of fun! I recommend it and will even try it someday as well.

What it takes to build a woodworking business

In short: perseverance and faith

It hasn't been easy starting this business and we are only just in the beginning steps. It's seems as if ever decision is a constant battle between our time and money. Two very valuable resources for a young family. So, what will make our business successful especially during a pandemic and working a full-time job?

All businesses go through growing pains. Especially in the beginning. There so much to do and you constantly hit walls that make you wonder why your doing this in the first place. But pushing through those walls by keeping the goal in mind is what keeps the business growing. Finding ways to cut costs while maintaining the high quality standards you made for your business is what sets you apart from so many others.

The most important part of building a business is the rock of all things we do in life: faith. Whether you believe in a supreme being or not, faith is what gives us the hope that there is a brighter future ahead of us. It is what drives us out in the effort so that one day we will truly reap what we have sowed. A farmer can never predict with absolute certainty that a seed will grow and do so strong and fruitful. But he can have faith and hope that it will.

This is truly a marathon event we are in. One that will go on for awhile but one that is completely worth it. We love seeing the smiles on our customers faces. It truly is our pleasure to be in this business.

A soldier never quits and never excepts defeat!

Festive and honorable weekend

Got to get some good work done this weekend.

Built a beautiful candy dispenser out of poplar. Our boys have been having a blast getting the sweet M&M's out of it. It's like magic when the empty bowl goes in and comes back out with more yummies.  [$50 w/ FREE SHIPPING to anywhere in the U.S.]

Next, I finished a wonderful addition to my desk: an American Flag with my old Army unit patch. I served in the Army for over 4 years assigned to the 1st Space Brigade. Some of the best years of my life. After posting pictures of this flag I was made aware of the mistake I hadn't noticed...THE STARS ARE UPSIDE DOWN! *Sigh* It's alright. This one is for me anyways and only the most observant people are going to notice. I still love it. [$90 w/ FREE SHIPPING to anywhere in the U.S.]

Everything you see on our website can be customized to fit you and your home. Prices shown are based on what is pictured. Prices for additional customization vary depending on increased complexity and type of wood.

Get your candy dispenser and U.S flag in time for the holidays! Both are created and shipped usually in 72 hours or less.
